Job description

Pay rates start at $17.75/hr.


Work is part-time and temporary, usually 20-25 hours per week, with short periods of increased hours per week available.


Interviewers primarily work 3-5 evenings per week, including one weekend day. The most effective interviewers devote 4-6 hours per shift on the days they work.


IDEAL CANDIDATES:

​​​​​​NORC’s field interviewer opportunity offers a flexible role where we seek to speak to people across the state of Arizona about their attitudes, opinions and behaviors on current issues and events. NORC will attempt to interview those people whose views and opinions are often underrepresented using telephone and web-based surveys.


Are you a self-motivated, people person looking to make meaningful contributions through work that impacts the nation? We are looking for outgoing people with a background in research, customer service, restaurants, retail, sales, and other public facing positions to conduct interviews that will produce data for our clients.


Are you detail-oriented? We rely on our field interviewers to make sure all data collected is appropriately recorded so our researchers can use the information to learn more about how our world works.


Do you work well on your own as well as being a contributing team player? You can own your workload, while still being a team player sharing accurate and thorough data reports with your colleagues in a timely fashion.

EXPECTATIONS

As an interviewer on the Wisconsin Poll study, you will invite respondents to complete a brief questionnaire in person at their door. Respondents will be compensated for their time.

For your safety as a NORC interviewer and the people who you are contacting in person, NORC will require proof of vaccination for COVID-19 before beginning the project. You will be eligible for a $200 COVID vaccination incentive if you share proof of vaccination after you are hired. You will be eligible for the incentive if you are fully vaccinated by 10/15/21 even if you received your shots before being hired by NORC.

You will report to your field managers on a regular basis with thorough and detailed data. (NORC will outline data quality expectations during training.)

As an interviewer, you will be expected to meet or exceed data quality targets.


TRAINING AND WORK SCHEDULES:

NORC will provide online paid training to ensure you have the tools you need to be a successful field interviewer. This remote online training will take place during the first week of October.

Once training has been completed, you will start interviews and data collection in mid-October 2021 and will continue for approximately 10-12 weeks.


REQUIREMENTS FOR FIELD INTERVIEWERS:

Present evidence of identity and authorization to work in the United States (I-9 documentation).

Have a valid driver’s license with unlimited use of an automobile in working condition, and present proof of auto liability insurance (exceptions can be made for applicants from major urban centers).

Attend paid online training sessions.

Have a High School diploma or equivalent.

Ability to carry a tablet, survey documents, and supplies.
